As the largest furniture and interiors event of the summer, MFS is an industry event that is about much more than the great mix of products on display. Second in size only to its sister show JFS (January Furniture Show), MFS is a comprehensive event for the whole UK furniture industry with furniture services, furniture trade bodies and industry press featured in the exhibitor line-up.
Taking place from 14-16 July at the prime city centre venue, Manchester Central, MFS has a happy reputation for being a relaxed and friendly show and a great place for buyers to talk at length to suppliers and industry colleagues - while doing serious business.
Included in the 150 strong exhibitor line up are companies who add extra punch for visitors. Furniture services including logistics, IT solutions, care products, furniture fittings and buying groups will all be represented.
IT solutions are big news and two companies Ordorite Software and Retailsystem will show visitors they IT packages developed specifically for furniture retailers. Ordorite have a ten year plus history in enabling retailers to manage everything from purchasing, stock management and logistics and to point of sale, delivery and customer service with customized solutions. Retailsystem are an award-winning cloud-based software provider to furniture and bed companies and have over 800 retailers and 8000 users worldwide for their easy to implement and easy use systems.
Furniture care is one of those vital extras for consumers and plenty of care products and packages will be also be available at MFS. Several companies will show their latest products including Furniture Repair Distribution, Stainguard and Stroolmount.
Stainguard are MFS regulars and have developed products and care packages for upholstery, beds and mattresses, cabinet and carpets. A popular exhibitor at MFS they have new protectors and care plans to introduce to visitors. Stroolmount are another MFS regular, they produce those vital little extras that protect furniture and floors from damage and easy move glides to protect back and muscles from damage too!
MFS isn’t all about products and services, students from the local Burnley College who run several courses in furniture design and manufacture will display their imaginative work. Students from 16-72 years who are studying for a variety of vocational and adult learning courses including Furniture Design and Make, Production and Upholstery and apprenticeships in cabinet craft and upholstery will have their imaginative and colourful pieces on display – following last year’s event 2 of the Burnley College students secured jobs with MFS exhibitors.
Trade bodies including the BFM (British Furniture Manufacturers Association) will provide visitors with information about their membership, services and power of the UK furniture industry. Buying group Minerva who work with over 100 suppliers will introduce retailers to their membership schemes and the benefits available.
The Furniture Industry press have a long and strong association with MFS and are great supporters of the event. For the first time Cabinet Maker will have a stand this year and will show visitors the comprehensive coverage it provides for the whole industry and across both print and electronic media.
Manchester is a truly balanced show, representing every aspect of the UK furniture industry. Visitors have far more than just furniture treats in store.
